GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn. — The parking area along Owl Hole Gap at a well‑known trout fishing location will be temporarily closed next week while construction crews work to replace a nearby bridge.

Whaley Construction is replacing the bridge on Game Farm Road near the waterfall for the Grainger County Highway Department. To safely set new bridge beams with a crane, the contractor has requested a full closure of the parking lot from May 6 through May 8.

During this time, public access will be restricted on both sides of the creek to ensure safety throughout the construction process. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and avoid the work zone until the project is complete.

The Grainger County Highway Department appreciates the public’s patience as crews work to improve local infrastructure and maintain safe travel routes.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency protects, manages, and conserves fish and wildlife for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors, and maintains public safety through law enforcement and boating and hunter education.
