Set for October 22 at Middle Tennessee State UniversityMURFREESBORO, Tenn. --- Registration for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s (TWRA) inaugural Tennessee Biodiversity Summit will remain open, with walk-ins accepted on the day of the event. The agency reminds those interested in attending to register prior to Oct. 7 in order to receive lunch at the event. Those registering after Oct. 7 will not receive lunch as part of the registration package.
The Tennessee Biodiversity Summit, an event celebrating Tennessee’s rich habitats and many species, will occur on Oct. 22, 2025, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. (CT) at Middle Tennessee State University. All wildlife enthusiasts, including experts, birdwatchers, hunters, and anyone interested in nature, are invited to participate in this experience packed with opportunities to learn about wildlife, habitats, and conservation in Tennessee.
Eight dynamic speakers will deliver presentations centered around this year’s theme, Tennessee’s Biodiversity: Past, Present, and Future, highlighting current wildlife projects taking place across the state, and the keynote address will be presented by Roger McCoy, Director of Conservation for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Participants will also learn about the updated State Wildlife Action Plan, a federally guided blueprint to prevent biodiversity decline. This plan engages a broad array of partners, including other government agencies, conservation groups, private landowners, and others in the development process, many of which will be at the event to educate.
Educational booths will be set up during the event, highlighting those committed to protecting the rich biodiversity and providing actionable resources for attendees. Time for networking and a silent auction of incredible excursions to learn first-hand about wildlife will also occur.
Event sponsors include the Greg A. Vital Center for Natural Resources and Conservation at Cleveland State Community College, Tennessee Valley Authority, and Bridgestone Americas, Inc. More information and registration are available here.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is responsible for protecting, managing, and conserving fish and wildlife species for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors. The Agency also maintains public safety through law enforcement and safety education on waterways.
