Commission to Hold One Day Meeting in Nashville July 11

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold a one day meeting on Friday July 11, starting at 9 a.m. in the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Region II Ray Bell Building.

The items on the agenda include a pair of proclamations for the Wildlife Committee. The first proclamation for wildlife management areas (WMAs), public hunting areas (PHAs), and refuges hunting seasons, limits, and miscellaneous regulations. The second applies to statewide big game hunting seasons and bag limits.

In addition, a rulemaking hearing will be held as TWRA is creating a permanent rule to comply with a recently passed law that removes the requirement that boating safety rules must be proctored. The rule will set the fee and process for administering boater safety exams. This is a follow up to the emergency rule passed by the Commission at the April Meeting.

The TFWC next scheduled meeting is set for Aug. 21-22 and will be held in the Region II Ray Bell Building.
