NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) announces the temporary closure of Unit 1 on Percy Priest Wildlife Management Area (WMA) to accommodate the upcoming Music City HRC Grand International dog trial.

Unit 1 will be closed to the public from Oct. 14-23, to allow for event preparation and competition activities.

The Music City HRC Grand International will take place Oct. 18–22 and is hosted by the Hunting Retriever Club (HRC) and licensed by the United Kennel Club (UKC). This prestigious event is open only to dogs that have earned the Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH) title. More than 750 champion retrievers from across the country are expected to compete in this elite event.

Percy Priest Unit 1 is a multi-use WMA, and the dog trial area offers a mix of fields and water features, providing an ideal setting for advanced hunting dog trials and tests of retriever performance.

TWRA appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this temporary closure to support a nationally recognized event.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is responsible for protecting, managing, and conserving fish and wildlife species for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors. The Agency also maintains public safety through law enforcement and safety education on waterways.
