NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and the Appalachian Bear Rescue (ABR) have reached a new partnership agreement for black bear rehabilitation in Tennessee.

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation (TWRF) has once again compiled 10 outstanding prize packages for its annual Wildlife Conservation Raffle. Proceeds from the raffle fund important conservation projects such as public land acquisition and habitat management.

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission (TWFC) unanimously passed a pair of wildlife proclamations and a boating safety exams permanent rule during a Friday (July 11) meeting at the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Region II Ray Bell Building.

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) reports there was a single fatality over the July 4th holiday and Operation Dry Water weekend. The incident occurred on Center Hill Lake shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday evening (July 3) when a 57-year-old Brentwood woman jumped into a water from a ski boat and was fatality injured by the prop.

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is once again participating in Operation Dry Water (ODW), a year-round boating under the influence (BUI) and enforcement campaign. ODW’s heightened awareness and enforcement annually takes place around the July 4th holiday and this year is July 4-6.

TWRA WITHDRAWS LICENSE FEE INCREASE – LEGISLATURE COMMITS TO ALTERNATIVE FUNDING

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) compiled statistics from the state’s recently completed 2025 spring wild turkey hunting season. The total reported harvest is 29,037, down 2,610 (8 percent decrease) from 2024 and a 13 percent decrease over the previous 5-year average (33,304).

NASHVILLE --- The application period for the 2025-26 season long Waterfowl WMA hunts is open June 25 through July 16. The successful applicants will be notified by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) through email (sent to the email on their account) when the drawing is finalized.

NASHVILLE --- The 2025 Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day is set for Saturday, June 7 in Tennessee. All state residents and visitors of any age may fish for free without a license in Tennessee’s public waters. Additionally, youth ages 15 or younger may fish for free the entire week, beginning on Free Fishing Day (June 7) and continuing through the following Friday, June 13.
