Jackson, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the yesterday’s arrest of Darryl Lewis, age 55, and David Lewis, age 60, the owners of Lewis Bail Bonds in Jackson. The Madison County Sherriff’s office arrested the two men, and bond was set at $5,000 each.
Knoxville, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to today’s guilty plea of Chris Yousif, former managing member of Quality Motors, for tax evasion and theft.
BLOUNTVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Robert Ranuro pleading “no contest” to two counts of sales tax evasion today. Ranuro, 56, previously owned Biggies TN, a restaurant in Kingsport. Judge James Goodwin accepted Ranuro’s plea to sales tax and liquor-by- the drink tax evasion.
NASHVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Dennis Jones, age 51. Revenue special agents arrested Jones today at Limelight, his place of business. Bond was set at $25,000.
KNOXVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Yawar Sheikh’s guilty plea Thursday. Sheikhs, 63, plead guilty to multiple felony counts of tax evasion and a felony theft charge over $60,000. Knox County Judge Bob McGhee accepted Sheikh’s guilty plea. As part of the agreement, Sheikh, the former owner of Shimla Auto Sales, will pay restitution and serve seven years supervised probation.
NASHVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Billy Raynor, who is the principal officer of Farmer’s Family Restaurant in Columbia. Revenue special agents arrested Raynor, 65, at his home today. Bond was set at $25,000.
SEVIERVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Wyatt Wrege Bunch for tax evasion. Revenue special agents arrested Bunch, 37, at Jayell Ranch on 1131 Jayell Road, in Sevierville. Bond was set at $5,000.
COVINGTON - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Monday’s guilty plea of David Aaron Whaley to felony tax evasion, theft, and false vehicle registration. Whaley is the owner of Whaley’s Auto Repair and Towing, in Covington. Whaley, 38, is scheduled for sentencing on April 29.
