KNOXVILLE - A Knoxville businesswoman pleaded guilty on Thursday to one count of theft over $10,000 (a Class C Felony) and four counts of tax evasion (a Class E Felony). The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Mosamod Halima Aktar’s guilty plea.

NASHVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Thursday’s guilty plea of Fathi Alshinnawi, 69, to tax evasion, a Class E felony. Tesniem Shinawi, 28, also pled guilty to attempted tax evasion, a Class A misdemeanor.

MEMPHIS - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Tuesday’s sentencing of George Austin Hitt. Hitt, 38, is the president of Memphis Bonding Company, located at 279 Exchange Avenue in Memphis.

SPRING CITY - The Department of Revenue’s Special Investigations Division led an investigation that resulted in Daniel Allen Arnold’s indictment and arrest for tax evasion and forgery. Revenue Special Agents arrested Arnold, 30, at his place of employment. His bond was set at $10,000.

NASHVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Brandon Alan Tramel for tax evasion, theft, and aggravated perjury. Revenue special agents arrested Tramel, 30, at his home. Bond was set at $25,000.

JONESBOROUGH - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Nellis Randolph Medley for tax evasion and related charges. Department of Revenue special agents arrested Medley, 52, at his business and transported him to the Washington County Detention Center on Tuesday.

HENDERSON - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Tammam Naji Alnajjar, owner of Family Market. Alnajjar, 32, was booked into the Chester County Jail in Henderson, Tenn., on Monday.
