NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Col. John “Brad” Bowlin, a native of Bristol, will be promoted to the rank of brigadier general during a ceremony held at the Mt. Carmel National Guard Armory at 1 p.m. on March 6. Tennessee’s Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. Jeff Holmes, will preside over the promotion ceremony.

SMYRNA, Tenn. – Top junior enlisted leaders and junior Noncommissioned Officer from the Tennessee National Guard and representatives from the Bulgarian Armed Forces competed in the State Best Warrior Competition, Feb. 22-27. SMYRNA, Tenn. – More than 145 Soldiers from the Tennessee National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 181st Field Artillery Regiment, returned home, Feb. 6, after a successful 10-month deployment to the Middle East. MEMPHIS, Tenn. – When the Tennessee National Guard’s 268th Military Police Company left for a yearlong deployment to the Horn of Africa last month, the 80-member company had the additional benefit of experienced local law-enforcement officers in their ranks.
