Hometown News Releases

A thumbnail image of the HNR Submission Form - A form to fill out to send to the Public Affairs Office in order to celebrate their accomplishments of Solders and Airmen.

Thank you for participating in the Tennessee National Guard Hometown News Release Program!

We are excited to help Tennessee Soldiers and Airmen celebrate their accomplishments. One of the methods we use to do this is with the Hometown News Release PDF, an efficient and simple document that lets the Tennessee National Guard Public Affairs Office know what the Soldier or Airman has done. By filling out the form as clear and complete as possible, the Public Affairs Office can then take the information and produce a short story to provide to local media outlets. This is an opportunity for Soldiers and Airmen to publicize their career achievements through their hometown newspaper, radio, or television station.

Some of the examples for which you can fill out the Hometown News Release form are:

Enlistments; Graduation from military schools; Promotions to E-5 or higher; Participation in major exercises or overseas deployments; Awards of Army or Air Force Achievement Medal or higher; Re-enlistment or retirements; Individual achievements; Non-Commissioned Officer of the month, quarter, or year; Commissioning; Competition winners; Assumption of command; Change of responsibility; Participation in a national news event.

Once you have finished filling out the Tennessee National Guard’s Hometown News Release PDF, please email the document, along with separate photos in a JPEG format, to the Joint Public Affairs Office email at ng.tn.tnarng.mbx-jsco-ngtn@mail.mil. If you need any assistance, please call 615-313-0633.
