Public Hearing Set on Social Service Block Grant Application
NASHVILLE – A public hearing to offer comments on Tennessee’s Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) Application has been scheduled for August 15, 2019. The plan, needed to draw down federal SSBG funds, can be found on the DHS website at https://www.tn.gov/humanservices/for-families/social-services-block-grant.html

MORE: SSBG is 100 percent federally funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The program, available in all 95 Tennessee counties and administered through contracts with a network of nonprofit and government agencies provides funding for eligible citizens for various programs, including adult daycare and homemaker services. Services are limited to low-income elderly and disabled adults.
