Appeals - File an Appeal (SNAP, Families First, & Child Care Assistance Programs)

You may file an appeal online, by writing, by phone, or by eForm:

• To file an appeal for SNAP, Families First, or Child Care Assistance online, please use the link to the One DHS Customer Portal.
• To file an appeal for SNAP, Families First, or Child Care Assistance in writing, please print off and fill out the appropriate Appeal Request Form listed below.  Send the completed form to the Appeals Clerk’s Office, a part of DHS Division of Appeals and Hearings, by mail, fax, or email.
• Appeal requests and all documents are considered “filed” or “received” on the date they are received by the Division of Appeals and Hearings, Appeals Clerk’s Office. Appeal requests and all documents received after 4:30 P.M. (Central Time) on a Business day (Monday through Friday excluding Official State Holidays), on a Weekend day (Saturday or Sunday), or an Official State Holiday, will be considered “filed” or “received” on the next business day. Electronic timestamps will no longer determine same day filing for appeals received after the 4:30 P.M. This deadline applies to all documents submitted to the Division of Appeals and Hearings regardless of method (Client Portal, E-Mail Attachment, Fax, or Written) used.
