Adult Protective Services

Adult Protective Services staff investigate reports of abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation of adults who are unable to protect themselves due to a physical or mental limitation. 

Homemaker Program

The Homemaker Program is funded through a grant from the federal Department of Health and Human Services. 

Social Services Block Grant

The Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) program in Tennessee provides funding for the Adult Homemaker Services and the Adult Day Care services. 

Adult Day Services

Adult Day Care (also called “Adult Day Services”) is critical to helping meet the needs of many vulnerable adults and their caregivers. 

 

 

Vocational Rehabilitation

The Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services program provides assistance to individuals with disabilities.

Disability Determination Services (DDS)

Disability Determination Services operates by agreement between the State of TN and Social Security Administration to process claims for Social Security and Supplemental Security Income disability claims.

Community Services Block Grant

The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) is a federally funded grant program created by the Omnibus Reconciliation Act of 1981. 

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps) provides nutritional assistance benefits to children and families, the elderly, the disabled, unemployed and working families. 

Nutrition Programs

The Child and Adult Care Food Program and the Summer Food Service Program are administered by the Department of Human Services.
