Trainings and conferences can be a great way to keep current on the latest technology, learn about emerging technology, and connect with people in the water and wastewater industry. TDEC offers a variety of training opportunities for operators and industry staff every month at our Fleming Training Center in Murfreesboro TN.
Fleming offers classes on cutting-edge technology, advanced classes in a variety of water areas, assistance to certified operators with their ongoing training, services as operators complete their continuing education requirements, and education and certification to thousands of treatment plant and water management staff every year. 2025 ASSET MANAGEMENT PLAN FALL WORKSHOP SERIES
The Tennessee Association of Utility Districts (TAUD), in collaboration with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), is pleased to offer a no-cost training series on Asset Management Plans (AMP). The series will be broken into one-day training sessions dealing with each core component of the AMPs. This training is designed to assist water and wastewater professionals in developing an Asset Management Plan (AMP) that meets the requirements of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). These workshops will be offered 100% virtually to accommodate the schedules of utility personnel.
Training Objectives:
- AMP Development: Attendees will receive detailed guidance on creating an Asset Management Plan that aligns with TDEC’s standards.
- ARPA Compliance: Learn how to ensure the AMP meets the necessary criteria for ARPA funding eligibility and reimbursement.
- Expert Guidance: Practical insights will be provided by TDEC and TAUD personnel, offering actionable steps to create a compliant and comprehensive AMP.

This training session will equip utilities with the knowledge required to meet both federal and state guidelines, ensuring eligibility for ARPA funding.
