TDEC is responsible for managing, protecting and enhancing the quality of the state's water resources through voluntary, regulatory and educational programs.


Watershed Stewardship

Watershed Management including the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program.

Septic & Decentralized Systems

A septic system is a type of small-scale sewage treatment system common in areas with no connection to main sewage pipes provided by local governments or other entities.

NetDMR and Electronic Reporting

The NPDES Electronic Reporting Rule replaces most paper-based NPDES reporting requirements, including Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs), with electronic reporting.

Fleming Training Center

The Fleming Training Center provides Operator training and certification services throughout the state of Tennessee. This service is provided as a part of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation's Division of Water Resources.
