    Nashville, TN—Today, the Tennessee Department of Education released district-level data on the TCAP retake opportunity, one of the pathways to promotion for third grade students who may benefit from extra learning supports. The data, accessible here, includes district-level percentages of third grade students who were eligible to take the retake, who participated in the TCAP retake, and who improved their performance on the TCAP retake, benefitting from participating in this pathway to promotion to fourth grade in the upcoming school year.

  • TDOE Awards $560M in Innovative School Models Grants

    Nashville, TN – As part of the Tennessee’s ongoing commitment to bring Innovative School Models (ISMs) to every public middle and high school in Tennessee, the Tennessee Department of Education has awarded over $560 million across 137 public school districts and 45 public charter schools to invest in students and their postsecondary success. Thanks to the historic investment by Governor Lee and the Tennessee General Assembly, this grant funding was distributed over 182 grants to increase opportunities for career readiness and student success statewide.
