Directions and Description
Site Directions: From Kingston, Tennessee, travel west on Roane State Highway until you reach Bowman Bend Road. Travel on Bowman Bend Road until you reach the WMA parking lot. GPS: 35.84526, -84.56017
The WMA is open year-round during daylight hours, with access dependent on hunting seasons. License fees may apply.

Description: McGlothin-Largen Wildlife Management Area is a 112-acre WMA located on the banks of Watts Bar Lake in Roane County, Tennessee. The WMA has fields planted in small grains, areas of old fields for wildlife cover, wooded fence rows, and an area of woods across Bowman Bend Road.
Regulations & Dates
Use of Motorized vehicles is prohibited.
Big Game, Turkey and Waterfowl - Same as statewide seasons except as noted. Deer season closes on Dec. 12, 2026. Archery equipment only for deer. September waterfowl seasons closed for wood duck, teal, and Canada goose.
Rabbit - Dec. 12, 2026, to the last day of Feb. 2027, on Saturday and Sunday only. Bag limit of three (3) per day.
Squirrel - Aug. 22 - Sept. 25, 2026, Dec 12, 2026 to the last day of Feb. 2027, and during spring squirrel season except as noted. Shotguns with No. 6 shot or smaller only.
Dove - Sept. 1 & 5, 2026. Noon to sunset only on Sept. 1, 2026.
Dog training - Sept. 1, 2026 - March 15, 2027. Beagles and pointing breeds only.
