What's NEW for 2023

Statewide

Trotlines cannot extend more than three-quarters (0.75) the distance across any stream, river, chute, or embayment. Trotlines, limblines, and jugs must be run at least once per 24-hour period.

Free Fishing Day

The Bobby Wilson free fishing day is scheduled for June 10, 2023. All Tennesseans are invited to go fishing with no license required. 

New! Bill Dance Signature Lakes

Lake Halford

Largemouth Bass: 10 fish per day. Only two (2) fish longer than 18 inches may be harvested.
Bluegill/Redear: 10 per day, no length limit
Crappie (all species): no creel or length limit
Blue/Channel Catfish: 5 per day in combination, 16” minimum length limit
Jug fishing is prohibited.

Browns Creek

Largemouth Bass: 10 per day, 18”–25” protected length range. Only one (1) fish longer than 25” may be harvested.
Bluegill/Redear: 10 per day, no length limit
Crappie (all species): no creel or length limit
Blue/Channel Catfish: 5 per day in combination, no length limit

Herb Parsons

Largemouth Bass: 10 per day, 16–20 inch PLR. Only one (1) fish longer than 20 inches may be harvested.
Bluegill/Redear: 10 per day, no length limit.
Crappie (all species): No creel or length limit
Blue/Channel Catfish: 5 per day in combination, 16 inch minimum length limit.
Hybrid Striped Bass: 16 inch minimum length limit, 2 fish per day creel limit

Travis McNatt Lake

Largemouth Bass: no creel limit, 16” maximum size limit. Only one (1) fish longer than 16” may be harvested.
Bluegill/Redear: 10 per day, no length limit
Crappie (all species): no creel or length limit
Blue/Channel Catfish: 5 per day in combination, 16” minimum length limit

Pin Oak Lake

Largemouth Bass: 10 per day, 18”-25” protected length range. Only one (1) fish longer than 25 inches may be harvested.
Bluegill/Redear: 10 per day, no length limit
Crappie (all species): no creel or length limit
Blue/Channel Catfish: 5 per day in combination, no length limit

Woodhaven Lake

Largemouth Bass: 10 per day, 18”- 25” protected length range. Only one (1) fish longer than 25” may be harvested.
Bluegill/Redear: 20 per day creel, 8” minimum length limit.
Crappie (all species): no creel or length limit
Blue/Channel Catfish: 5 per day in combination, 16” minimum length limit

Acorn Lake

Largemouth Bass: 10 bass per day, no minimum length limit.
Bluegill/Redear: 20 per day creel, 8” minimum length limit.
Crappie (all species): no creel or length limit
Blue/Channel Catfish: 5 per day in combination, 16” minimum length limit
Trout: catch and release only from Dec. 1-March 31, 5 fish per day, no length limit April 1-Nov. 30

Fall Creek Falls Lake

Largemouth Bass: 10 fish per day, 16” maximum length limit. Only one (1) fish longer than 16” may be harvested.
Bluegill/Redear: 10 per day, no length limit
Crappie (all species): no creel or length limit
Blue/Channel Catfish: 5 per day in combination, 16” minimum length limit

Region 1 (West TN)

Poplar Tree Lake
•   Largemouth Bass: 10 fish per day, 18” maximum size limit. Only two (2) fish longer than 18” may be harvested.

Region 4 (East TN)

Douglas Reservoir
•   Largemouth/Smallmouth/Spotted Bass: 5 bass per day in combination, only one largemouth or smallmouth bass over 16” per day June 1 through September 30.
