Eligible Training Provider List

We play a huge role in funding training. Not just any training; rather, we focus the money on programs that lead to the student’s employment.

Overview

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), signed into law on July 22, 2014, is the first legislative reform of the public workforce system in 15 years.

An Eligible Training Provider (ETP) is a training institution that satisfies the requirement of WIOA. As part of the infrastructure to carry out the mandates of WIOA, states are required to maintain a list of training providers and programs that are certified to receive students using WIOA funds. WIOA students are only permitted to use their Individual Training Account (ITA) funds in programs that appear on the Statewide Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL).

We have hand-selected educational institutions and specific classes that teach the skills to be successful in the Tennessee workforce.

All of the institutions' and programs' eligibility are made on an annual basis based on each institutions performance data.

Apply for Placement on the ETPL

Tennessee schools can apply to be listed as one of our training providers by completing an application online at Jobs4TN. Institutions, whether in-state or out-of-state, are required to have the authorization to operate within the State of Tennessee by a state authorizing or governing body prior to application submission. Documentation of this required oversight is to be submitted to your Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA) after submitting your application. Please use the contact information below for your LWDA.

Out-Of-State Providers

Many out-of-state institutions fall under the oversight of the Division of Postsecondary State Authorization (DPSA) with the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC).

Registered Apprenticeship Programs

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA) of 2014 supports the use of Registered Apprenticeship programs. So much so that Registered Apprenticeship programs are allowed automatic inclusion onto the ETPL. You must be registered under the Act of August 16, 1937, most commonly known as the National Apprenticeship Act. To be included on Tennessee's ETPL, you must indicate your interests in simply registering at www.jobs4tn.gov, and then submit documentation verifying your current status as a Registered Apprenticeship to your LWDA using the contact information for your LWDA.
