Job Search Skills
Job Placement
The primary focus of every Tennessee American Job Center and Jobs4TN.gov is to quickly place you in a suitable job by giving you the tools you need. All Tennessee American Job Centers offer computers with Internet access so that within minutes of entering our doors, you can immediately search more than 90,000 local job listings we receive from major job search engines, from job orders placed directly by Tennessee employers, and from corporate sites. You also can be directly notified when an employer is taking applications at a local center.
Direct Access to Employers
Tennessee American Job Center staff partner with local employers and are often the first to announce job openings in your area. Tennessee American Job Centers host hiring events and job fairs for specific employers. This gives you the unique opportunity to make a face-to-face impression and apply for a job on the spot.
Résumé Assistance
The Résumé Builder in Jobs4tn.gov takes all the guesswork out of creating a professional-looking résumé. Import your existing résumé or build one step-by-step. Jobs4tn.gov then uses the skills you listed to send you job listings in your area. Create multiple résumés, and post them online for prospective employers to view. You don’t have to be a computer expert to create a professional-looking résumé.
