Inflatable Amusement Devices

Due to the number of injuries, the severity of the incidents when they occur, and the desire to reduce the number of injuries through a more consistent set-up and operation of all inflatable amusement devices,  the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission staff is issuing this Safety Bulletin.

Trampoline Amusement Devices

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) wants you and your family to be safe when using trampolines. CPSC estimates that in 2014 there were 104,691 hospital emergency room-treated injuries associated with trampolines. CPSC is also aware of a total of 22 deaths in the 10-year period between 2000 and 2009. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued this Safety Alert.

Zipline Amusement Devices

The popularity of ziplining has skyrocketed rapidly in recent years. The number of commercial ziplines in the U.S. rose from 10 in 2001 to more than 200 in 2012, in addition to more than 13,000 amateur ziplines which can be found in outdoor education programs, camps, and backyards. The increase in popularity has also increased the number of injuries related to ziplining.

Water Walking Balls

Consumers are urged to halt participation in recreational activities involving water walking balls, as there are no emergency exits and can only be opened by a person outside of the device. When a person inside experiences distress, the risk of injury or death are significantly heightened.

Dual Leg Lanyards

A recent incident has brought to our attention that dual leg lanyards used in Personal Safety Systems common in our industry can expose users to the risk of unrecoverable entrapment of the head and trauma to the neck.
