o When building new construction, it is important to have the structure properly anchored to the foundation to prevent the home from being swept away.
o Raise Electrical Boxes, Major Appliances, and HVAC components at least one-foot above the 100-year flood level.
o Anchor fuel tanks and water heaters
o Install sewer backflow valves
o Strengthen Entry Doors and Windows
o Fortify garage doors
o Brace Gable End Walls
o Keep Outdoor Gear from Becoming Windborne Missiles.
