Region 2

Daniel Oliver is the Director in Region two located in Chattanooga. His responsibilities include directing department operations throughout the 24-county region. Major areas of operational responsibilities are highway maintenance and repair, construction engineering, right-of-way, traffic and highway marking, bridge repair and inspection, state aid program and administration, materials and tests, design, highway beautification, environmental planning, and office administration, including personnel matters. Daniel is a licensed Professional Engineer and a Registered Land Surveyor with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Tennessee. Danny began his career with TDOT in 2001 as a GTA in Knox County Construction, and later progressed in several areas including survey and project development. He served as the Project Development Director in Region 1 from 2013 to 2018. Daniel’s career spans over 20 years in survey and transportation engineering.
