TBI Criminal Investigator School
For law enforcement agencies across Tennessee, the TBI Criminal Investigator School will sharpen the skills of investigators at any experience level. This academy focuses on a variety of skills, such as interview and interrogation, search warrant writing, photography and crime scene processing. The curriculum of this school is oriented toward student participation by incorporating hands-on workshops and practical exercises.
Locations and dates are as follows:
Upper East Tennessee
October 26-30 and November 2-6, 2026. Applications are open and will be accepted until September 11, 2026.
***Must attend both weeks. This is a POST Certified class.***
Class will be held at Walters State Community College, 500 S. Davy Crockett Parkway, Morristown, TN, 37813.
Lodging and meals are the applicant's responsibility. The Academy itself does not have a cost.
West Tennessee
September 14-18 and September 21-25, 2026. Applications are open and will be accepted until August 28, 2026.
***Must attend both weeks. This is a POST Certified class.***
Class will be held at EMA Building, near the airport in Jackson, 239 Grady Montgomery Drive, Building 7, Jackson, TN, 38301.
Lodging and meals are the applicant's responsibility. The Academy itself does not have a cost.
Middle Tennessee
This academy has been completed for 2026. Please check back in early 2027 for new dates.
