NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Correction’s Central Office staff took time out of their annual service awards program to spread a little holiday cheer to those in need.  TDOC collected more than 500 canned goods and a monetary donation for the local nonprofit The Little Pantry That Could.

The Little Pantry That Could is a food bank that provides “produce and shelf-stable items” for people in need.  According to TDOC employee Lesley Gilmore, who organized this food drive, “I connected through Facebook with The Little Pantry several months ago and knew I had to nominate them for this year’s holiday drive.  They are amazing!  This organization is completely dedicated to helping everyone in need to the best of their ability, regardless of circumstances.  Helping them help others is the best feeling and knowing that we helped as a TDOC team makes your heart grow just a little bit more.”
