List of Inactive Hazardous Substance Sites
The Hazardous Substance Remedial Action rule (Chapter 0400-15-01) includes a process for adding and deleting sites from the List of Inactive Hazardous Substance Sites. You may have heard this list called a Promulgated Site List.
In order to be on this list, a site must meet three criteria:
- Be inactive,
- Have a hazardous substance present, and
- Pose or anticipate to pose a threat to public health, safety, or the environment.
When a site meets these three criteria, TDEC's Division of Remediation will propose adding it to the List of Inactive Hazardous Substance Sites. Adding or deleting a site requires rulemaking. The list can be found in Rule 0400-15-01. You can also view the List of Inactive Hazardous Substance Sites (Promulgated List) on the Division of Remediation Dataviewer.
