TDOE Launches TN Education Job Board to Support District Recruitment and Hiring

New Job Board to Build Upon Department Efforts to Help Districts Fill Vacancies

Nashville, TN—Today, the Tennessee Department of Education launched the TN Education Job Board, the second statewide initiative launched this summer to support districts in hiring and recruitment. The online job board will highlight openings for available district positions and offer another tool to help fill critical educator vacancies, as the COVID-19 pandemic has limited many traditional recruitment methods.

This initiative will supplement the department's ongoing work to connect job-seeking educators with districts through the TN Teacher Jobs Connection, which provides interested teachers with teaching opportunities in the state’s 147 districts. Any educator is welcome to complete this form as part of the Connection.

“The TN Education Job Board is another way the department can support districts to ensure every student has a high-quality teacher and learning environment,” said Commissioner Penny Schwinn. “This initiative is building upon our efforts to ensure districts have the resources in place to serve our kids as we all prepare for the new school year.”

On the TN Education Job Board, job postings, websites, and district contacts are listed for districts in Tennessee and state special schools according to Grand Division- West, Middle, and East. Charter Management Organizations, including ASD schools, will have job postings listed below the Grand Divisions.

The job board also includes a “Featured Jobs” section highlighted at the top of the page, which have been identified by districts as the most critical vacancies. These job postings will be updated every two weeks.

“All students deserve to learn from a great teacher, and that doesn't change because of a global pandemic. I have been so grateful to the department for partnering with districts and responding to local needs, including meeting the challenge of recruiting teachers and filling vacancies in our schools,” said Kurt Dronebarger, Director of White County Schools. “The TN Education Job Board will be another useful tool to connect directly with job-seekers and fill these critical roles.”

District information and job vacancies for any position in a school are continuing to be updated as submissions are received.
