Nashville, TN – Throughout the month of March, the Tennessee Department of Education invites all Tennesseans to celebrate Tennessee Literacy Month, as proclaimed by Governor Bill Lee, spotlighting the Reading 360 initiative and the focus Tennessee’s educators, families, elected officials, and community partners have on continuing to improve literacy rates for all learners in the state.

Nashville, TN — Today, the Tennessee Department of Education released data on the 2023 ACT Senior Retake, which provides public high school seniors with an additional opportunity to boost their score on the ACT for free. Thanks to the retake opportunity, the number of high school seniors who took the ACT in 2023 and are now eligible for the state HOPE Scholarship has increased to 24,623, representing one out of three seniors.

Nashville, TN—Today, the Tennessee Department of Education released the ACT state results and participation rate for the 2023 graduating class. Thanks to efforts by schools and districts to encourage student participation on the ACT, the overall statewide participation rate for the 2023 graduating class improved to 99 percent, with 64,422 graduates tested. This year, the state average composite ACT score remained steady at 19.0 for the 2023 graduating class.
