Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)

Do you know an outstanding mathematics or science teacher? Parents, educators, and community members can now nominate teachers for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). This year nominations are open to kindergarten through sixth grade mathematics and science teachers who have at least five complete years of full-time K-12 mathematics or science teaching experience prior to the current academic school year.

Presidential Awardees at the national level receive a certificate signed by the President of the United States, a trip to Washington, D. C. to attend a series of recognition events and professional development opportunities and a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.

To nominate a great educator, visit the National Science Foundation’s website at www.paemst.org.

Assessment Committee Application for 2021

Educators who are passionate about their subjects and students have an opportunity to have a seat at the table for how learning is measured. The Assessment Committees are essential for developing and implementing Tennessee’s statewide summative assessment program. Tennessee has one of the longest-running summative assessment programs in the country, and, unlike many states, we develop and own all our Tennessee test questions. Your active involvement, along with thousands of Tennessee educators, ensures the assessment process is informed by educators and content experts who know our students, our standards, and what is needed to set each student up for future success.

There are several committees gathering in 2021. You may apply for one, many or all of them. There is no limit to the number of committees you may apply for: we are looking for educators who are passionate about learning in Tennessee. Now is your chance to share your voice! Full information and the application form are available on the Assessment webpage.
