Knoxville Day Reporting Center to Hold 1st Graduation
Ten Clients Expected To Be Honored During Ceremony
KNOXVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Correction’s Day Reporting Center (DRC) in Knoxville will be holding a graduation ceremony to honor the ten clients who have successfully completed the program. Throughout the last ten months, these graduates have successfully completed all three phases of the intensive, substance abuse treatment program and maintained their sobriety. This is the first graduation held since the opening of the DRC program last August.
Addressing the causes of recidivism is essential to enhancing public safety. Often times, offenders’ criminal behavior is directly related to a struggle with substance abuse. The DRC program serves to address these issues through daily reporting, comprehensive treatment, and access to resources, all within a model focused on accountability and self-discipline.
Reducing recidivism through evidence-based programs is a central element of the Tennessee Department of Correction’s non-negotiable mission to ensure and enhance public safety.
