Turney Center Commencement Exercises

ONLY – Providing incarcerated offenders with much needed education and career training is part of the broader Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) effort to increase public safety and reduce recidivism.  To help with this initiative, TDOC provides an array of academic and career technical programs, at each of our correctional facilities.  TDOC is happy to announce the commencement exercises for offenders in the department’s Adult Basic Education (ABE), program plus those completing classes in carpentry, cosmetology and our Career Management for Success Program (CMS).  Not only does education in TDOC facilities reduce recidivism, but it’s also a part of TDOC’s unwavering mission to enhance public safety.

WHAT:            Turney Center School Commencement

WHEN:           Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 9:00 a.m.

WHERE:         Turney Center Industrial Complex, 1499 R W Moore Memorial Highway

VISUALS:        Media will be able to shoot non-identifying shots of the graduation ceremony.  Department leadership will also be on-hand and available for interviews.
