UNION CITY – The Tennessee Department of Correction’s “Operation Clean Up” continued yesterday at the Union City Probation Parole field office.  Officers and Special Agents with TDOC, along with officers from the Union City Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol and United States Marshal Service conducted intensive vehicle searches in the parking lot of the field office.  Today’s operation resulted in the search of 43 vehicles.

“Today was a great success to enhance public safety which is part of the TDOC mission,” said Probation and Parole Manager Chase Jones.  “We had a few arrests from offenders who weren’t abiding by the rules and guidelines of their supervision.  This parking lot sweep is a way for us to hold them accountable if they stray from the rules.  By partnering with local law enforcement we were able to get the job done and make our community safer.”

Today’s operation resulted in four arrests and the issuance of six citations.  This operation illustrates TDOC’s commitment to Tennessee communities by ensuring offenders on supervision in west Tennessee are held accountable for their actions.

TDOC’s Probation Parole Officers, Strike Force, K-9 Units, and Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT) Officers from the West Tennessee State Penitentiary and Northwest Correctional Complex led the operation.
