The American Correctional Association (ACA) announced two Tennessee Department of Correction prisons, Turney Center Industrial Complex (TCIX) in Only and Riverbend Maximum Security Institution (RMSI) in Nashville, have successfully passed reaccreditation audits.  With the reaccreditation of TCIX and RMSI, TDOC continues to be one of only a handful of correctional systems in the nation to hold the ACA’s Golden Eagle Award for full accreditation.

The Golden Eagle Award represents the highest commitment to excellence and dedication to enhancing the safety of the public, staff, and offenders.

“I am exceptionally proud to see TDOC continue to hold this distinction, and it would not be possible without the tireless efforts of our team of correctional professionals,” says TDOC Commissioner Tony Parker. “Each day, they work to enhance the safety of our institutions and communities and I am happy to see the ACA recognize their excellent work.”

The non-negotiable mission of the Tennessee Department of Correction is to operate safe and secure prisons and provide effective community supervision in order to enhance public safety.
