TDOC To Host 3rd Annual 5K Walk/Run At The Historic Tennessee State Prison

As a part of our ongoing effort to support Governor Bill Haslam’s Healthier Tennessee Initiative, the Tennessee Department of Correction will hold its 3rd Annual 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, May 14th, 2016.  The event will take place at the historic Tennessee State Prison, giving participants a rare, up-close look at the landmark which has been the setting for movies including The Green Mile and The Last Castle.

Registration is open to the public with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.   Pre-registration is $25 per participant.  Registration the day of the event is $30.

Immediately following the 5K, participants can enjoy family friendly activities.   Participants are welcome to bring handheld cameras to photograph the prison.  Please, no pets.
