NASHVILLE - Tennessee Department of Correction Commissioner Tony Parker today announced the appointment of Debbie Inglis to the position of TDOC Deputy Commissioner of Administration.  Inglis currently serves as TDOC’s chief General Counsel, a role she will continue in addition to her new responsibilities overseeing Administration.

Deputy Commissioner Inglis began her career with Tennessee state government in 1986 as an Assistant State Attorney General in the Civil Division of the Office of the Attorney General.  In 1992, she was promoted to the Criminal Division, where she served as lead supervisor of the Capital Litigation Team.  She joined TDOC in 1994, when she was selected to manage and lead the department’s Legal Division.

“Debbie is a true correctional professional who has always well represented this department and our 6,000 plus employees for more than 22 years,” says Commissioner Parker.  “I have no doubt Deputy Commissioner Inglis will excel in her new role, and I look forward to seeing continued progress from this division.”

Inglis earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1980 and graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1984.
