WTSP Escape Attempt Foiled

HENNING – On Tuesday, December 15, 2015 quick work by TDOC Correction Officers prevented an inmate from escaping from a secure facility. While many details are being withheld as to not compromise the investigation, it must be noted that the inmate did not escape from the secure facility. This means that no fences were breached during this attempt and the inmate never left the secure area of the prison.

West Tennessee State Penitentiary remains on lock down as the investigation into the attempt continues. More information including the name of the inmate and a mug shot will be available later today.
