Major Robert Terrell Johnson
Major Robert T. Johnson was promoted to Major in 2018 over the Administrative Bureau. Johnson started his career with the Tennessee Highway Patrol in 1998. He served as a road trooper in Fayette County in the Memphis District until 2004. In 2004, he transferred to Davidson County in the Nashville District as a road trooper. He was promoted to Sergeant in the Internal Investigations Unit in 2007 where he served until 2014. In 2014, he was promoted to Lieutenant in Troop F of the Nashville District until his 2016 promotion to Captain of Special Operations Division.
He had the opportunity to serve and represent the department as a Strike Team Commander, motor officer, and a member of the Honor Guard. In 2007, he completed the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Basic Criminal Investigation School, and is a graduate of the 2009 Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command. He graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy in 2017.
