Course Times: 1:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
This 4-hour course covers the basic skills to recognize, detect and identify the presenceof hazardous materials during an emergency. Students wil learn how to define and describe how hazard materials are classified; understand the risks associated with them as well as proper notification precedures. Topics of instruction include understanding the importance of initiating command and control activities during a hazardous materials incidents; surveying a hazardous material incident; identifying the containment systems and materials involved; and use of the Emergency Response Guidebook.
