Statewide Active Transportation Plan

VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE

Welcome! The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is developing a Statewide Active Transportation Plan and wants to learn what about walking, bicycling and rolling is important to you. We will ask you to take a survey after you watch the informational video.

What is a Virtual Open House? Due to public health concerns, we’re reaching out to you through this webpage. The Virtual Open House includes a brief video presentation introducing the plan, a short online survey, and an interactive map where you can provide specific comments. Comments will be accepted via the tools below through October 14th, 2020.

Let’s Get Started!

Step 1 – Curious about how TDOT is planning for active transportation in your area? Click on a region below for a brief video presentation focused on your region.

Step 2 – What are your priorities for active transportation in Tennessee? Click the link below to complete a short survey.

Step 3 – Do you have ideas on where or how TDOT could improve walking, bicycling, riding in a wheelchair, or taking a scooter on state roads? After you take the survey, you will be prompted to give your thoughts on the roads you know and use on an interactive map.

What is active transportation? Active transportation includes walking, bicycling, and traveling by personal mobility devices such as wheelchairs and scooters. The plan is the first effort since 2005 aimed at developing a statewide vision for active transportation in Tennessee for people of all ages and abilities.

THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE PLAN!

A second round of public engagement will take place in the fall and focus on draft recommendations.
