Title: “Changing the Way We Think About Mental Health”
Learning Objectives and Summary of Training:
- Gain knowledge about the prevalence of co-occurring mental health substance use disorders across East Tennessee
- Participants will learn the definition of co-occurring disorders
- Participants will acquire information about prevalence rates of varying mental health and substance mis-use concerns, as self-reported, from screening data
- Participants will receive information about current rates of mental health and substance misuse
- Prevention and Early Intervention of co-occurring mental health substance use disorders
- Participants will learn how to identify risk factors for substance misuse
- Participants will learn the different levels of substance misuse
- Participants will receive an overview of the signs of substance misuse
- Resources for a Wholistic Approach to Mental Well-Being
- Participants will engage in an activity to discover personal areas of growth towards mental well-being
- Participants will acquire information about practical exercises to manage stress
- Participants will be provided with treatment resources for mental health and substance misuse co-occurring disorders
