About TCCY:

TCCY is an independent, nonpartisan agency established by the Tennessee General Assembly. Our primary goal is to ensure that the policies and programs of the state effectively promote and protect the health, well-being and development of children and youth.

Our commission consists of 21 members who serve overlapping three-year terms. Each member is appointed by the governor based on their demonstrated leadership, interest, knowledge, and involvement in issues concerning children and youth. Representation from both urban and rural areas, as well as from each of the state's nine development districts, ensures a comprehensive perspective.

Our Mission:

Advancing data-driven decisions to improve the lives of children and youth in Tennessee.
