About The Juvenile Justice Review Commission

Public Chapter 0281 of the Acts of 2025 creates the Tennessee Juvenile Justice Review Commission to review an appropriate sampling of juvenile justice cases and may review any critical incidents involving delinquent juveniles in the custody of the department for the purpose of providing the general assembly with findings and legislative recommendations.

The Juvenile Justice Review Commission is comprised of a diverse group of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of our children. Its findings and recommendations shall address all stages of investigating and adjudicating juvenile justice cases

The Juvenile Justice Review Commission reports annually to the General Assembly on its work. It holds open meetings quarterly and closed investigatory meetings as needed. Upcoming meeting dates and details are available on the TCCY calendar.  

Juvenile Justice Review Commission Annual Reports

The commission shall provide a report to the general assembly on the commission's progress in fulfilling its duties set out in this section no later than January 1, 2027.

The commission shall submit a report detailing the commission's findings and recommendations no later than January 1, 2028, and annually thereafter, to the general assembly.
