Eight Office of Homeland Security Special Agents Graduate
On Thursday, Oct. 1, Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Jeff Long and Tennessee Office of Homeland Security (OHS) Deputy Commissioner Greg Mays presented badges to eight new OHS Special Agents in a graduation ceremony held at the Old Supreme Court Chambers at the State Capitol.
"Today's graduates represent the next generation of dedicated professionals committed to safeguarding Tennessee," said Commissioner Long. "Their hard work, discipline, and willingness to serve strengthen our state’s readiness and resilience. I’m proud of each of them and grateful for their commitment to protecting our communities."
Collectively, the graduates bring more than 200 years of law enforcement experience to the department.
"Today’s graduation ceremony highlights the sustained investment we’re making in safeguarding Tennessee,” said Deputy Commissioner Mays. “These eight newly commissioned Special Agents have completed specialized training that prepares them to identify and mitigate threats, serve as vital connectors between local law enforcement, schools, and community partners and ensure that every corner of our state is better protected.”
The OHS Special Agents will be deployed across Tennessee in critical roles, including strengthening the state’s cybersecurity posture and supporting federal partners through the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF).
