DYERSBURG - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the indictment and arrest of Edward Ruff, II, in Dyersburg. Revenue special agents arrested Ruff, 44, at his business. Bond was set at $10,000.

COVINGTON, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to the guilty plea on July 16, 2021, of Martin McDivitt, age 54, to tax evasion, criminal simulation, and theft. McDivitt was accused of providing false documents to the Tipton County Clerk's Office when he registered 14 motor vehicles.

BLOUNTVILLE - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led Royce Franklin Sutphin’s no contest plea. Judge William Rogers accepted Sutphin’s plea to two counts of use tax fraud, six counts of forgery, and one count of theft over $1,000. He was sentenced to two years of probation. The judge ordered restitution in the amount of $2,332.50 to the Department of Revenue.
