Songwriter, playwright, entertainer, and CEO of Tennessee Stage and Film Company, Debbie Watts, will present dual programs at the Clement Railroad Hotel and Museum at Hotel Halbrook State Historic Site on Thursday, March 14, 2024.
The first of two events will be a “Meet the Author” presentation, featuring Watts reading from her book, "The Tennessee In You And Me," an inspired collection of student-friendly rhyming quatrains, extolling the sights, sounds, and spirit of living in Tennessee. The book was inspired by her musical composition, “The Tennessee In You And Me,” which the Tennessee General Assembly has honored as an official state song! The author event will get underway at 4:00 p.m.

Then at 6:00 p.m., the author will change hats and take her place at the piano to perform a women’s history month tribute to many ladies whose songs and music have shaped our lives. The songs of Brenda Lee, Dolly Parton, and many others will be performed, as well as her own original song, “The Tennessee In Me,” which has been certified as an official song of the state of Tennessee!
