The draft 2026 List of Impaired and Threatened Waters in Tennessee is now available for public review and comments. The Impaired Waters document, developed by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, compiles waterbody segments that violate one or more water quality criteria, or are documented as threatened by pollutants. The Framework document outlines the Department's plans to prioritize and implement measures of restoration and protection through our Section 303(d) Program.
Comments will be accepted through February 15, 2026 and should be directed to Richard.Cochran@tn.gov.
To further facilitate public review and comments, a public hearing has been scheduled.
