Mandated Reporter Training

A free online training offers the public information on how to report child abuse and neglect in Tennessee. It explains how the process works, plus policies, laws and what reporters can expect.

The training is used by many public entities such as schools, child care centers and organizations that have some contact with children. Anyone who wants it, can access the training. The training was developed in collaboration with the University of Tennessee College of Social Work, Office of Research and Public Service; the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services; the Joint Task Force on Children’s Justice/Child Sexual Abuse; and the Shelby County Citizen’s Review Panel.

Firefighter and EMS Training

Firefighters and EMS play a unique role in society and often come face to face with some of the most vulnerable populations. Being able to recognize when a child or family needs support can be all the difference in helping that child lead a healthy and safe life.

The training above is designed to teach you how to recognize the signs of abuse, how to make a report, and how to prevent child abuse in your communities.

If you are interested in learning more about DCS, child abuse, or prevention, please email Rebecca.Bevans@tn.gov for additional training opportunities. We are available to offer training live or virtually.
