Electronic Submission of Hazardous Waste Notifications

Now Live: Electronic Hazardous Waste Notifications & Reporting

The Division of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has launched electronic hazardous waste notification and reporting in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Facilities can now submit hazardous waste notifications electronically through RCRAInfo. Learn more about electronic notification submission on the Electronic Submission of Hazardous Waste Notifications page.

The preferred method for facilities to notify of their hazardous waste activities is by submitting hazardous waste notifications and annual reports electronically through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) information system, RCRAInfo. If the facility needs to apply for a Part A or B hazardous waste permit, please visit the Hazardous Waste Permit Management website for more information about that process.

How to Register for a RCRAInfo Account

myRCRAid also known as RCRAInfo

  • This is the preferred, electronic version of the Site ID Form found in EPA's RCRAInfo Industry Application under the myRCRAid module.
  • One account per user; account sharing is against federal rules and regulations
  • Use this service to request new and update existing EPA ID numbers.
  • RCRAInfo provides the ability to submit electronic Site ID Forms, to sign and view manifests, and submit Biennial and Annual reports in all in one place.
  • Faster approval time when compared to mailed in forms.
  • Email notifications are issued at each step of the process and previous information is saved.
  • Requires use of multi-factor authorization (MFA) via Login.gov; the system will prompt you to create an account if you do not already have one.

How to Make a Fee Payment

Regardless of the submission method, facilities must submit paper copies of the fee sheet associated with their specific notification type to Waste.Activity@tn.gov or to the Waste Activity Audit Section (WAAS) at the address below:.

ATTN: Waste Activity Audit
Davy Crockett Tower, 7th Floor
500 James Robertson Parkway

If a fee payment is required, your submission will not be considered complete until WAAS has received the required notification forms (either in hardcopy or electronically) AND confirmed receipt of your fee payment.

Payment can be made by check or credit card. If paying by credit card, submit the completed Credit Card Authorization Form and the fee sheet to Tdec.Fees@tn.gov. If you have an invoice number and a customer ID number already, payment can be made through the TDEC Customer Fee Portal. Contact Tdec.Fees@tn.gov to request a copy of the Credit Card Authorization Form.

To pay by check, make checks payable to: Treasurer, State of Tennessee, and write your EPA ID number on your remittance.
