FF280 - Initial Hazmat Response Threat Assessment
Overview
Participants will be able to use SAFER MOBILE RESPONSETM and determine; Initial Isolation Distances, Protective Action Distances, and Vapor / Gas Trajectory. Participants will also be able to identify high occupancy locations that could potentially be impacted from a hazardous materials response, identify potential roadways that should be blocked and to Pre-Plan hazardous materials responses for industrial facilities as well as determine safe isolation distances for potential BLEVE conditions. Utilizing the NIOSH Pocket Guide participates can relate the significance of Chemical and Physical properties to the risk based response process. This course uses online applications and in class exercises to demonstrate the assessment tools.
