CR215-00 2018 IRC Deck Construction

Overview

This course examines the 2018 International Residential Code for requirements pertinent to deck construction.  Topics will include proper foundation and framing, wall anchoring, as well as other elements involving stair tread and riser dimensions, handrail, and guard height and baluster requirements. Students will also be challenged to inspect for all safety hazards pertaining to decks since such spaces and structures are used often, have prolonged exposure to weather, and must frequently support large numbers of occupants in many different functions.
