Women's Treatment
More and more providers in Tennessee are able to support pregnant women, women with children, and women working to regain custody of their children as they go through treatment and enter recovery from substance use disorder and co-occurring mental illness. Through the Women's Recovery Oriented System of Care, TDMHSAS and its community-based providers seek to support women on their recovery journeys, maintain bonds between women and their young children, and ensure long-term success for everyone involved.
What’s available?
- Residential housing for pregnant women
- Intensive outpatient, case management
- Trauma-specific interventions and recovery support
- Parenting skills, child care and transportation
An essential aspect of the WROSC is childcare services. Childcare shall include, but notbe limited to assessment of the child's life functioning areas and appropriate referral and/orplacement of the child while the mother is in treatment. Other services may include child counseling, play therapy, prevention education, mother-child therapy, referral to primary care, pediatric care, gender specific treatment or other therapeutic interventions
Eligibility Criteria
Services are available for women who are pregnant or three monnths post-partum or who have dependent children or are trying to regain custody of dependent children. Women eligible for this program have no other financial means of obtaining services, are not enrolled in TennCare or has exhausted their benefits, and meet the 138% Federal Poverty Limit
